A Film by Uri Bar-On
(Israel, 2006, 51 Minutes, Color, Hebrew/ English/ Hindi, English subtitles)
Illegal immigration motivated by financial benefits is recognized as a worldwide problem which many countries are attempting to eradicate. In Israel an original solution was found: on August 18th 2002 Prime Minister Ariel Sharon announced Israel's decision to fight immigration by activating an anti-immigration policy or, as it is commonly referred to by the foreigners, a "deportation police".
The anti-immigration sector has a massive annual budget of about 170 million Israel Shekels, 473 officers and around 90 vehicles slyly referred to by persecuted foreigners as "Fifty Two Fifty" cars.
This movie aims to change the existing reality by utilizing an 'intimidation via camera' technique. With the help of a professional crew and volunteers armed with semi-professional cameras we latch-on to the "Fifty Two Fifty" cars, filming these officers in action.
