A Film by Ofra Shahor (Israel, 2005, 50 Minutes, Color, Hebrew, English subtitles)
Bubaleh ('Kiddo') was only fifteen when he joined the special horsemen unit in the War of Independence in 1948.
Ofra, his daughter and the director of the film, decides to find out once and for all what really happened in the southern Negev dunes in the dark nights of the war. She doesn't always like what she discovers, but Buabaleh insists she's naïve because she never had to struggle for her survival.
In the background, her elder son's enlistment is approaching and creates a storyline of three generations in the search for personal and national identity.
