A Film by Ayelet Bargur
(Israel, 2006, 52 Minutes, Color, Hebrew, English subtitles)
"Ten years without you and it is still incomprehensible.
In these past ten years there were difficult, even unbearable, moments but also beautiful and exciting moments.
In all you are absent, my Brother Ziv, you are being missed.
What can I tell you, my Brother? For 10 years I have been making films and you haven’t seen any, but your presence is in all of them.
Sometimes just before I fall asleep at night I ask myself “Could our lives have been different?” No wars, No army, No Death, No Pain.
This film is from me to you, from the reality to the image, from longing to memory, from truth to story, from a sister to her brother, from Ayelet to Ziv".
Ziv Bargur was a Platoon commander in the Paratroopers, IDF. Ziv was killed in a car accident in May 1996, when his driver fell asleep at the wheel; he was 23 years old when he died.
The film tells his story and the story of his family after his death.
